it was always a town we would just pass through en-route to the cape point or somewhere else but never to stop in…. so i was quite surprised when my husband suggested we actually visited the town for the day & do some exploring. what a truly stunning little gem. apart from the incredible seaviews it has the most fabulous little vintage & antique shops run by fabulously eclectic people – i could have hauled away wheelbarrow’s full of amazing ‘finds’ if i had been allowed to! i love the fact that it is a military town so apart from the spectacular seaviews you also have these amazing ships in the picture. there is even a submarine. it’s quite ‘colonial’ in feel with quite a few british accents about – probably another reason i loved it so much!

the properties up the hillside are just gorgeous. we drove all the way round & well i was already purchasing at least 10 of them in my head! it’s hard to find one that doesn’t come with an amazing view.

the best place to eat is definitely the ‘salty dog’ – a little fish & chip shop right on the harbour. honestly the food was amazing – in fact my mouth is watering just thinking about it! it’s obvioulsy extremely well known as everyone we mentioned ‘simonstown’ to mentioned the ‘salty dog’.

i will most definitely be back!
